thinking

Noted at the site were random pieces of candy wrappers, tissue paper, blown away leaves and branches which are basically trash. They carry the notion of freedom such that they were abandoned. I would want my device to break the norm and not be made of new materials as usual. Hence I begun to search for junk or abandoned items around my house for my device and found these:

- hula hoop that existed a decade ago, however our family has outgrown this item of joy

-$2 sunglasses bought out of impulse from cotton on

- 2 different brands computer sling from its computer bag, as I do not use the sling.

- unwanted belt from my mother

To create the notion of freedom, I blurred the sight of the user so he or she can have the total freedom to walk wherever he or she would like, with the hula hoop providing sound and protection against any bumps e.g. humans, columns. The blurred vision provides an alternative view as opposed to the usual clear vision which everyone takes for granted so I wanted to break this norm. The blurred vision increases the person sensitivity to their surroundings as well as the person would be more sensitive towards the sounds and touch from the vibrations of the hula hoop and pokes from the cable tie. Moving through the pathway will never be a straight line anymore.
